常春藤湖飯店(The Ivy Lake)

Really good location. Parking for 3 cars, no more. But safety and convenient. Good shower, good plumbing. Purity. There are snakes and lizards in the territory. They provided only one bottle of water for two person per day.

We booked a room for two nights. They help us in many ways to enjoy our trip to Anuradhapura. The place is near the Nuwara Wewa. We rented 2-foot cycles from this place and had a great evening riding them on tank bund.  They help us prepare "kiri ahara" for morning Buddha puja in Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. The next day, we rent a scooter bike to travel around Atamasthana. Food is also good and reasonable. Supportive staff. Highly recommended places to stay  

We stayed here for just one night to visit the sites of Anuradhapura but we would have happily stayed longer! It was absolutely terrific value for money - the room was large and spotlessly clean, and fresh towels etc were all provided. The service from the staff was also excellent - we arrived when it was absolutely pouring with rain and we were helped in with umbrellas and shown to our room. We were also driving our own car so can confirm that parking was easy and the gated front made the parking feel secure. We paid for breakfast in the morning where we had string hoppers with fish curry and sat at a little table outside to eat where there were nice flowers pots and a real effort had been made with the little garden. The food was delicious and great value. This is a budget hotel so guests expectations must be in line with that - for the price this far exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

I booked this hotel (02 delux double rooms) upon the reviews in google on 04th October 2022 paying 50% of the room values. And I checked in today (26-OCT-2022)at 11.30 am as I came in the receptionist (lady) wanted me to pay the balance 50% even before handing over the keys, I offered cash and was insisted by the receptionist to make a card payment and was reluctant to accept cash..(was not customer friendly at all) Walked in to the room not even a small bottle of water was there so i had to go back to the reception to get a water bottle (even small motels offer a small free water bottle) & I believe if it was told at entering would have been much more convenient. Then at noon we decided to order LUNCH and i was told i can order from the menu. But when i ordered based on that i was told only availability is rice and curry which was 850/- Upon asking the dishes provided for same I was given a hand written chit. Frustrated I walked out towards the junction and in the restaurant called "The walkers" I got the same lunch for 450/- and the cashier was telling me the hotel staff has contacted them for food. I feel that apart from a bad customer service I was been attempted to be cheated too.. It seems as if I made the wrong choice.. i will be checking out tomorrow noon and wish to do a complete review at the point of checking out. As a country struggling to get up in this crisis situation business owners who handle tourism and travel industries should'nt be doing these type of things...

The Hotel is a small and cosy 4 rooms newly renovated villa and was kept clean and well maintained. Mahinda who was the receptionist, cook, and was one man show was friendly and flexible. A real gentleman! The hotel room is large in size, clean and basic with Bathroom with hot shower! The electric shower is not connected to the overhead shower, so the hot water comes out of the handheld shower and not the overhead shower. To run on the electric shower you just need to the inlet valve. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Overall I would recommend this hotel !! Enjoy 😊

Having previously stayed here pre-pandemic, we returned for a few nights during our Sri Lanka annual trip. The place has been fully renovated. Staff are friendly & helpful, rooms are spotlessly clean, super cold air-con, hot water with rain shower, a nice finish., ohhh and a super cosy super king bed The place is a great location for us, it’s near town, there’s a few restaurants nearby, near the temples and 2-3min away in TukTuk from the main train station that we caught from Colombo. Thank you to everyone for you’re kind hospitality, from us both

We had a great stay at the  ivy lake. We was welcomed by a very friendly receptionist who helped carry our babys pushchair to the guest room. The rooms was very spacious and excellent for the price we paid. The aircon was free, great water pressure in the shower and free shampoo and body wash. The comfort of the bed was better than mine at home. I was a little worried about other reporting bugs and mosquitos, but there was only a few, which is expected in a tropical country.   We had a delicious breakfast in their outdoor coffee shop and dinner after we visited the temples. They have a great outdoor coffee shop with a variety of drinks and food. We wanted to stay another day, but they was full, but we will return next year. Thank you for everything

Our visit to the hotel was an enjoyable one. It was located near the railway which was convenient to walk too. There isn’t much dining options in Anuradhapura, but fortunalty they have a restaurant here and a relaxing outdoor coffee shop. My daughter loved the Oreo milkshakes and brownies! The rooms are not luxury, but a good size with fast wifi throughout, massive bed, functioning air-con and super clean! The cleaning lady is so sweet! We arranged all our trips with the hotel, they priced as same as everywhere else. I would recommend this place completely.
