Our experience was not at all what other reviews reflected. I’ll start with pros: the location was great, especially for UM and good for downtown. Breakfast was good- fresh fruit, quality yoghurt, eggs to order. Owner seemed friendly in a brief encounter. We stayed one night, so didn’t visit the courtyard. The common area was OK, with more collected knick knacks than needed. We made our way past some gardening junk in the breezeway to ring the bell, and were promptly shown our room. Rooms are beach themed- ours was Sand Castle, apparently the worst they have. It was dark and dingy on a sunny day. Poor lighting. One bedside lamp had no available outlet. Not so clean. Used toothpaste tube in one bathroom drawer, used latex gloves in another. Shower head sprays every which way. Uncomfortable bed. Generally just poorly equipped and maintained- just depressing in there. We escaped to the movies to avoid the room on a rainy day. If this were an $80 to $100 motel, I’d have less to complain about. One of the worst lodging values in our experience. I suppose that Ann Arbor walkable lodging is way overpriced in general. Previous reviews mysteriously seem to describe a different place. We would not stay here again.

Check-in and parking were great! Very friendly with nice amenities. Room and bathroom could have been cleaner, but we had a great stay!

Such a beautiful a spacious place to stay. Not to mention it is literally located downtown so it’s perfect walking distance if you want to explore Ann Arbor downtown. Host was very sweet as well. Bedrooms and bathrooms are separate, and the dinning/living room is spacious and shared. If the weather is nice, there is a big shared balcony with tables and a beautiful view where you can enjoy the surrounding city. From what I could tell there are also private balconies with most or all the private rooms. However the best view is definitely the shared one.

Loved the decor. Friendly and helpful hosts. So many snacks! Breakfast was wonderful. Had a great stay.

Atmosphere was very cute, but there were so many cute things that house cleaning is difficult. Right on a busy road.

Lovely little place with a spectacular location. Loved being able to walk out and be right on campus with walking/biking/escooter access to everywhere you would want to be in town. The staff/attendants were super friendly and accommodating. I would think of this place being like staying over at a friend’s house with a great location, except without having to commit any time to spend with the friend haha. The structure and interior are a bit dated but if you know the area, Ann Arbor and the homes in the neighborhoods, this is pretty much the standard with exceptions for the few complete tear downs/renovations. Parking is tight and so are the hallways/corridors so caution to anyone driving large vehicles or packing large bags/belongings. Otherwise this is a great option for anyone wanting a cozy quaint place to stay while enjoying the great things around Ann Arbor and the UM campus

One of the worst hotel B&B decisions I have ever made. First, I could not find anyone to check me in. Finally, someone came out and told me that I was not expected until 8 PM that evening. Then we tried to key code for the door lock and it did not work. After they disappeared for a while, came back and it still did not work. The room did not match the description, missing features listed when I made the reservation. It might have been "just" a quirky location, but I was not going to subject my wife to any more. We left and found a chain hotel for the night. The ********** people on the phone were friendly, but did not seem to be able to help much, I still don't know if I will be charged for the room.

Host failed to answer door and phone calls multiple times when we arrived. Camera watched us which was creepy. Man answered phone and we couldn't understand him. She put us in the wrong room and was unavailable when we had to move out when other guests arrived. Common areas were cluttered and dirty dishes were scattered on counters. Laundry area was full and messy. Outdoor space was messy. We left and asked for a refund. Travelocity said we had to call host. We got a place further down the road and didn't want play the game. DONE with Travelocity!
