Wir sind auf unserer Norwegenreise in mehreren historischen Hotels abgestiegen, aber nur das Angvik Gamle Handelssted war wirklich seinen Preis wert. Einerseits ist die ganze Anlage in sich stimmig und wirkt nicht nur wie ein Sammelsurium von alten Gegenständen. Dann waren die Zimmer gross und wirkten sehr gepflegt. Diesen Eindruck, dass alles sehr gepflegt ist, hat man auch von den Gemeinschaftsräumen und vom Esssaal, der sich in einen grösseren und zwei kleinere Säle aufteilt. Das Abendessen - entweder kann man sich für einen Dreigänger oder einen Fünfgänger entscheiden - war ausgezeichnet. Vor dem Hotel hat sich eine Fischotterfamilie eingenistet, die sich da sehr heimisch und von den Gästen kaum gestört fühlt.

Looking for a local weekend solution, we had been advised this hotel was a great choice. This is a perfect location, by the fjord, and with a large amount of history from 1500. The staff on check in / out were perfect, the restaurant facilities with lounge/bar are very well designed - from the original stile. We had room 110 at the end of the building on the ground floor, with a small but large enough terrase, though the room had no TV - not that that was a problem, WiFi was very good and had no problem watching any TV channel. The swimming pool / plunge pool - very good facilities. Will be back.

Great and friendly staff! Effortless check-in and nice rooms. Very cosy and pleasant lounge area. Pool time included, a small but hot pool with a panoramic view of the fjord. No TV, but OK. Not the best internet connection in our room, and zero pictures on the walls. No problem, the view was great. The food in the restaurant was world class! Especially the exquisit wine/food combinations.

In short, nothing but fantastic! This hotel with it’s location, splendid service, excellent rooms and restaurant offer is all amazing. In connection with the hotel is also a spa and a museum, both of very high standard. The museum is telling the industrial story of Angvik, and when there go see it! Outside the hotel you have the seaside where they offer boats that visitors can use and go fishing in, and when back again the art gallery can be enjoyed. One of Norways best hotels and and I will keep visiting when I am in this part of Norway. To the team at Angvik Gamle Handelssted - thank you!
