Bonnie at the front desk was a very busy multi-tasker, but still made you feel very cared for and all questions addressed. She was friendly and had suggestions for “must-see’s” around Anchorage. Having a shuttle and a bagged breakfast (since we left so early) was an added touch.

Check in time is normally 3 PM, but we were homeless for a few hours and decided to show up at 1:30 PM and the desk clerk had a nice room set aside for us. The room was comfortable, quiet, and all products were fully stocked. And, it had a microwave and refrigerator! The airport shuttle was fantastic and the driver was very helpful and friendly. Overall, we were very pleased with our entire experience at this hotel.

I initially booked this room because of the good reviews 8.4 stars on **********. However, when we checked in, the bath water was brown, and we pulled the comforter down to check the bed. There was hair on the sheets and they did not look as if they had been changed. When I contacted the front desk to ask for a manager, they offered a different room and said that contacting a manager wasn't necessary. I tried to show the front desk clerk the pictures of this issues and he did not want to see them. In the second room, the bath water was clear, but when I pulled down the comforter, the sheets had stains and did not look as if they had been changed. There was also black mold on ceiling tiles and the rooms were dirty in general. This was certainly not what I had expected from Holiday Inn Express and was most certainly overpriced at $339 for one night. My wife and I ended up sleeping in our rental car until our red eye flight from Anchorage. At least the rental car wasnt filthy.

Not many options within walking distance for dinner. We had an early dinner at the Lakefront resort. Sat outside watching the seaplanes. Ask for the 3rd floor for a room. Definitely not floor 1. In the cellar! Breakfast was typical Holiday Inn Express. Met our needs. About a 15 to 20 $ cab ride to the Denali train station

Hotel is old and in most aspects very tired, the reception and house keeping staff were very helpful & friendly. Spoons, toe nails and rubbish behind the bedside tables, shower rails very rusty, room smelt musty and smokey - could be great with some refurbishment. Breakfast staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful, which was a shame as the food options were very reasonable. Well located for the airport and city.

Booked handicap room and specifically requested 2 floor close to elevator. My husband recently had pace maker surgery and had issues using his left arm to handle luggage. I called 3 times prior to arrival to make sure they got my request. When I checked in they said only room they had was a lower level dingy room which meant I had to move all the luggage myself. AC WAS BROKEN AND TEMPSTURE COULD NOT BEVADJUSTED. IT EAS SO NOISEY WE COULDNT SLEEP. Room was dirty and bathroom floor was rusted and sticky. It was the worst room I ever stayed in in all my yesrs.

This hotel is really dated. The carpets are disgusting and clearly need to be changed out. We had 2 rooms and one smelled really bad! The shuttle was convenient and hotel is very close to the airport. That was a bonus for our 6am flight and departed on the 3:45am shuttle. The linens were thankfully newer and clean.

Very nice place with a better than average hot continental breakfast. Room was clean, quiet and nicely updated. Staff was friendly. Will be staying here going forward. I’m a sloper so I’m in town monthly. The place I was staying before sold to the state so I’ve been looking for a new hotel and this is it. No complaints at all.
