多利亞飯店(Hotel Doria)

Prix exorbitant pour le niveau très sommaire de l'hôtel. Certes, il est bien placé entre la gare et le centre, il est propre. Mais le petit déjeuner n'est même pas niveau d'un ibis, la salle de douche est exiguë, l'équipement minimum. La literie était bonne. Ça ne vaut certainement pas les 220 euros la nuit.

Being a solo traveler on a budget I really liked the Hotel Doria. For this price in the middle of everything ( restaurants, nightlife, attractions) it’s perfect. The rooms are small but clean. With this location you should not be spending much time in the room anyway except to sleep and get ready for your next adventure. The staff is AWESOME. I arrived several hours early and my room was ready. Yes, it’s not a fancy hotel but the location and price makes up for it. I will definitely be staying here again.

Picoolo hotel posizionato vicino a piazza Damm, nel centro di Amsterdam. È in posizione strategica, vicino ai luoghi turistici, aile vie della mi Ida e a pochi passi dalle fermate del mezzi pubblici. Il personale è molto cordiale e gli ambienti sono tranquilli, le camere abbastanza silenziose, a parte un po' di fastidio dall'impianto di riscaldamento. Buona colazione in rapporto al prezzo piuttosto contenuto della camera. Sono molto soddisfatto, spero di poter tornare presto.

verblijf begin oktober: De locatie van het hotel is niet onaardig. Iets wat over het personeel niet gezegd kan worden. Arrogant, onvriendelijk chagrijnig personeel wat vooral druk was met elkaar en zichzelf en niet met de gasten. Het inchecken duurde werkelijk eindeloos en niet efficient. De schoonmaak in de kamers is echt ondermaats (stof onder bed en op de randjes) en zijn zelfs voor Amsterdamse begrippen klein. De airco werkte niet in mijn kamer en toen ik er wat van zei kreeg ik te horen dat ze het wisten maar het niet konden verhelpen. Blij dat ik voor een conferentie maar 1 nacht daar hoefde te zijn. Ontbijt heb ik overgeslagen want ik wilde zo snel mogelijk weg uit het stinkhotel. Waarom onze boekhouding dit hotel heeft geboekt voor mij weet ik niet maar dit hotel gaat bij ons op de zwarte lijst. Wil je een mooi gezellig hotel waar je vriendelijk behandeld wordt: BOEK DAN ERGENS ANDERS !!!

Splendida esperienza. Letti confortevoli, pulizia della camera già il giorno dopo il nostro arrivo, colazione ottima in una bella location. Hotel in ottima posizione vicino piazza Dam e stazione. Personale sempre disponibile. Ci ritorneremo.

Excellent location between DAM square and ******************…professional staff that assisted us getting room early to allow us quick recovery from time change/travel. Breakfast was great continental with fresh croissants…wow! We will stay again if return to Amsterdam. Thanks

Dingy, decrepit, smaller than a tin of sardines. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in, 1.5* hotel at best. Falsely advertising as a 3* and the pictures are very misleading. Breakfast was laughable. Scrambled eggs sourced from cardboard.

I should know better than to transit through Amsterdam on a weekend. It was adequate property, lovely staff, good location. Convenient to everything. Tram stop a block away. Clean. Expensive for what it is. Single bed (not a twin) tight quarters.

First, the good! I stayed at Hotel Doria in early September for my first trip to the 'Dam. I booked it due to a few factors: its price (reasonable for the location), convenience to Amsterdam's main attractions plus Centraal train station (you're on Damstraat), and the restaurant underneath. I thought that'd be a good option for an evening meal before my early flight home if I wanted something simple and faff-free. It delivers on all of these fronts. The room was clean (a lick of paint perhaps needed in places, but clean). The bed was comfortable, and someone'd be in to make it up and replace your towels and binbag daily. The staff bumped this rating from a three to a four, as the receptionists were lovely and helpful - reception is manned 24/7, good for those who have flights at unsociable hours like I did. The bathroom was bright and well-kept with a powerful shower: cubicle was nice and roomy too! If you like a quiet room, it's pretty good around the back of the hotel (and higher up) so it's not so close to Damstraat, but you will have the air-con unit whirring. Doria are in the middle of installing it in all of their rooms, so if that kind of thing bothers you perhaps ask for a room that doesn't have a unit yet. I don't mind the whirring myself, especially as it wasn't competing with any other noise and it kept the room at a good temperature, but there weren't any controls to switch it off. The breakfast relies mainly on cold food - this was ideal for me, my time is better spent sightseeing and exploring than a leisurely full English, but worth noting if a cooked breakfast is one of your must-haves. (I did eat at the restaurant - I'll review that separately - but you get a 10% discount if you're also staying at the hotel.) The downsides didn't hugely affect my stay, the pros outweighed the cons, but are still worth fellow travellers bearing in mind if they're considering the Doria. The single room I had was small and narrow, so is better suited for able-bodied visitors travelling light who use the hotel purely to sleep and shower. In terms of accessibility there is a lift that excludes the fifth floor, but in the room I had there really wasn't a lot of room to manoeuvre. If you removed the tea station, you'd be able to set up a small laptop on the desk if you need a workspace, but there wouldn't be much room to move. You can't shift the desk closer to the powerpoint either, so when it came to plugging the kettle in, I needed to prop it on my suitcase or the chair as the cable was too short. The tea station and mineral water isn't restocked (something we take for granted in the UK admittedly) which may be worth the Doria putting on their information leaflet even if it's a service offered at an extra cost. If fellow Brits are at risk of shrivelling up without their fix of leaf-water, bring some Tetley in your suitcase, or alternatively you can pay for a cuppa at the restaurant and bring it to your room (2.70 euros).
