A basic 1-2 star hotel, decent location but no amenities except basic breakfast, heat nearly impossible to figure out, subterranean rooms. If your after budget is the only reason to go here. Be ware. Local additional charges on top of your booking prepayment. $50.00 taxes and facilities charge even though no facilities.

Hotel nicht zu empfehlen!! Wir waren gestern dort, haben ein Zimmer auf der Etage -1 bekommen, ein sehr kleines Zimmer was müffelt und leider nur ganz kleines Fenster hatte, die sich nicht öffnen ließ… Am Abend nach dem wir erneut ins Zimmer kamen, stank der ganzer Flur schon nach Abwasser, Kanalisation… Im Zimmer roch es leider nicht anders… wir mussten direkt aus checken, weil es für das Menschliche Körper nicht mehr gesund und erträglich war.

Hotel was well situated and convenient for transport. Staff were lovely. Got what we needed, our only notes were the room (carpet) had an odor/dated. TV was ancient (no use of apps etc) and remote was quite dirty. Had a pleasant time there nonetheless.

So, me and my gf decided to visit Amsterdam for 4 lovely days. For accommodation we chose The Alfred hotel ofc! We had a really nice time during our stay, however it was raining all the time, so make sure to bring rain coats etc. the Alfred Hotel made us forget the rain since they offered really hot showers. The rooms were kind clean, could be cleaner. But to be honest, so could I as well;) The only thing to complain about was the beds, it was two mattresses in the queen size bed which made a hole in the middle of the bed. Otherwise we had a jolly time!

Do not stay at this hotel. Don't be fooled by the cheap rooms and the three stars. We booked a modern twin room We arrived late in the evening with our two children. -There was mould on the walls and in the bathroom. - it smelt very bad -it was noisy -when I sat on the bed, my backside almost when to the floor as the mattress was clearly decades old -it was disgusting and had not been renovated since the 20th century I requested to change room but we had to wait until the next day. They upgraded us. It looked OK. But when we went to bed, we pulled off the mattress sheet to see the most grim looking stained and bobbly mattresses you can imagine. I would attach photos if possible. See the reviews on other sites for the photos. We left the next day (a few days early) as it was unsafe for children and adults alike. Management wouldn't reply to my emails and refused to refund me even for the nights we didn't stay I claimed the money back on my credit card and listed it as a scam. Something to keep in mind. Stay well away from this place. It's not a hotel. It's not 3 stars. Don't fall for it.

Beds & pillows were terrible. Bathrooms were clean. Not a lot of plug ins to charge devises for 3 people. Toilet was separated from shower & sink, so that was odd & there was nowhere to wash hands after using toilet if shower was occupied. Room was small, but that was fine. Nice cool temperature in the room. Good location close to tram & restaurants, nice neighbourhood.
