Staying locally, last week, at the Low Hall Garth Climbing Hut. Popped over (10 minute walk) for 3 evenings for a few beers after each days peak bagging. Excellent well kept pints of Fellwalker Pale Ale, Wainwright Amber and Loweswater Gold, although a little pricey, but who isn't! Staff extremely friendly, polite and helpful especially the 2 young lads behind the bar! Closed each evening at 21.00 but ample warning given by the staff and able to sit outside after 21.00 to finish my beer after time. Would highly recommend!

Four of us Stopped here for a Sunday Roast. Very expensive at £18 per head in relation to portions. Plenty of meat on plate, but vegetable were few. Service wasn’t particularly friendly. Great location with excellent outside seating area.

Another great break in this gem of a place. The rooms are tastefully decorated with lovely deep baths which is just what you need after a walk. It was great that they had changed to summer quilts and the window was open to let in the fresh Lake District air and keep the room cool. Plenty storage, thought the boot tray a good addition. Stayed for 2 nights and ate in the restaurant both times. Nice choice of food we had the calamari both nights as probably the best we have had. The venison was also delicious but the beef cheeks were out of this world. Good wine selection and a nice cheeseboard. Freshly cooked tasty breakfast with local preserves. Staff were as lovely, welcoming and helpful as ever.

Visited a few times after a big walk from Elterwater and its a nice location but £9.40 for two pints of crappy draft coke is incredulous. The owners must be absolute jokers to think that is even remotely acceptable. Scamming tourists, of which I am not one and giving the area a bad name. Shame on you.

Called in whilst walking, limited menu (as appears the normal in Lakeland Pubs at present), sandwiches were OK but they served an excellent pint of Coniston Old Man, the best pint in my week in the Lakes.

Had friends visiting for the weekend who wanted to eat in a traditional Lake District pub so we drove them here through Great Langdale to get the full scenic experience. Stunning location with friendly staff and an interior that's kept its character over the 30+ years I've been visiting. Service was prompt, menu was a little shorter than expected but food quality was good with no one left disappointed. Thought the prices were a little on the high side (typically £25 for mains/£9 for desserts) but other that, glad to be back.
