This was my first trip to Altoona, and my 3-day stay at the Towne Place Suites Altoona over the 2023 Labor Day weekend was fantastic. The purpose of my trip was to enjoy local rail-trail biking, immerse myself in the tragic Johnstown Flood, the portage railroad, and Horseshoe Curve history. Everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations, including the convenient location, the front desk reception on arrival, the cleanliness of the hotel and my room, the plentiful breakfast, and the welcoming, huge, and quiet outdoor patio to read a book or just relax. My requested upgrade (due to my elevated Bonvoy status) was approved by James Long, the assistant hotel manager, and I personally thanked him for it. Kudo’s go to the entire TPS Altoona staff, and especially the morning breakfast team that superbly orchestrates the 3-hour breakfast rush, similar to feeding time at the zoo! Food items were constantly replenished before they went empty, and tables were always ready for the next person/group to use. I’ll certainly be back!!

Came up to Altoona to visit Levity Brewing in downtown and for Penn State Football. This hotel seems very new… shower pressure strong, bed comfortable, room was spotlessly clean. The breakfast area was large and well stocked. Definitely will return!

Very clean. My husband and I only stayed one night as a midpoint stop in the way home. We did online check in with the mobile key and that was very simple. The hotel can be a maze to find the rooms/ elevator but it is unique. Lots of food available for breakfast. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was updated and nice

After driving all day, we decided to stop here for the night. Choose the TownePlace Suites (used points ) and didn't regret it. The gentleman that checked us in was welcoming, friendly and explained the amenities and layout. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Location was right off the highway and parking was plentiful. Breakfast was your typical free hotel breakfast but it worked fine for us.

A newer property flying two brand flags, the TownePlace Suites shares a lobby, elevators, gym, etc with a Fairfield Inn and Suites. Our room was designed to make the best use of every square inch - there was plenty of space, but a very tight gap between the foot of our bed and the pulled out sofa. Would be convenient for VA visits or local colleges.

We stopped through on our way home from south to north yesterday. I chose this location because of its advertised EV charger, which was conveniently located, and free. It's right up front by the door, to do the left of it, and it appears to be for 3 shared spaces, however the station itself is all the way to the right of the three spots, so you could definitely charge in the right spot, and maybe the middle, but it'd be hard to imagine it reaching to the far left spot. Either way, it was a free L2 charge which was awesome. The room was quite nice, with a stove, dishwasher, and full fridge and freezer. The bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of doordash options available. Overall, we'd likely stay here again if ever in Altoona.
