Les portes du igloo hotel franchies, la magie opère et les yeux pétillent face aux sculptures de glace. Les artistes sont talentueux, les sculptures sont finement réalisées. Le thème de l'hiver 2024-2025 porte sur la mythologie grecque et nous reconnaissons Dieux et Déesses, sans oublier messagers et muses. Incroyable ! On rembobine... nous avions choisi de conserver notre chambre "au cas où" en plus de la suite dans l'igloo. Nous n'avions jamais vécu cette expérience de dormir dans la glace et on souhaitait avoir une porte de sortie si on le vivait mal. On a trouvé cela très pratique pour s'organiser avant de rejoindre le igloo. A la réception, on nous remet un gros sac de couchage prévu pour supporter du -40°, ainsi qu'un oreiller. Une pièce chaude est à disposition, ainsi que le sauna. Dans le igloo, il y a des toilettes communes et chauffées. Mine de rien, ça enlève un poids de se dire qu'on pourra faire un petit pipi nocturne si besoin ! Concernant la suite, elle est magnifique. Un grand sommier de glace accueille des peaux de rennes isolantes où viendront se superposer les gros duvets bien chauds. Les sculptures sont uniques dans chaque suite. N'hésitez pas à les visiter avant et à demander ensuite celle que vous avez préféré. On peut choisir si c'est dispo ! Si vous optez pour une chambre, elles sont toutes identiques. Ce sont des lits de glace avec également des peaux de rennes et un gros duvet. Elles ne sont pas sculptées. On ne va pas mentir, nous n'avons pas passé la meilleure nuit de notre vie... notamment l'endormissement. Il fait plutôt froid pour trouver le sommeil, mais une fois cette étape franchie, on dort comme des bébés : aucun son, un sentiment d'isolement et de sérénité. C'est très agréable. Mon mari a mis une couche : legging et haut thermique, chaussettes. Pour ma part, plus frileuse, j'ai mis un collant et un legging thermique, un haut et une veste thermique, des chaussettes, des gants et un bonnet ! C'est une expérience à vivre si vous le pouvez ! Pouvoir dormir dans le Paradis blanc, c'est à faire ! Merci à l'équipe de l'hôtel, vraiment très sympa, joviale et dynamique.

We spent one night in the Lodge then one night in the Ice Hotel and then one last night back in the Lodge. This place is pure class. The rooms are lovely and all face the river Alta. There is a sauna and a jacuzzi and I was surprised to be asked to pay 300NOK as a guest to use them for an hour. You get to use the sauna for free the morning after a stay in the ice hotel. The restaurant is built in the shape of a Sami laavu and is really lovely. Breakfast is buffet and lunch and dinner are a la carte. We were undecided about sleeping a night in the ice hotel and then figured we would probably regret it if we didn't so we booked one night in the ice hotel. One night is enough because you really only go into that part to sleep. You can tour the ice hotel during the day and it is so beautiful and inspiring and much bigger than we anticipated. We booked a suite which is a bigger room. There were five suites in total and each one has its own unique snow carving. The theme for this year was Greek Mythology and each statue and carving was drawn from these legends. We did not get cold in the ice room because you dress in thermals and the sleeping bags are rated to -40. The room is probably -4C. The smaller rooms are cosy but no art work. Whilst at Sorresniva we did the Reindeer and Sami experience with Mikkel. That was lovely and worth doing. He was fascinating to listen to. He is a fulltime reindeer hearder, not just someone dressed up as a Sami. We also did ice sculpting with Natalie and throughly enjoyed that. It includes a tour of the ice hotel and a drink at the bar. We did a three hour snowmobile tour with Kattel and she was a phenomenal guide. If you want to experience an ice hotel, this one is in the top three in the world.

My partner and I took the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel Alta tour with a fantastic guide! A young girl who was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, fun, and very kind! It was very interesting, and at the end of the tour, we had a great drink. I highly recommend it!

Overall bad experience. Room only available in the night. During the day it’s required to leave the room with all luggage and to stay in the entrance lobby. Luggage can be stored at the reception room however due to lack of insurance it is recommended by the hotel to not leave valuable things in. Only public bathroom and shower of the spa are available for igloo hotel customers. Hotel restaurant reservation times are not flexible and set by the hotel (we got the offer to adjust by 15min). Experiences are overpriced and even better organised by local restaurants.

Awesome ice sculptures! You can see the work and passion in all the details. Also nice to have a guided tour for the story behind the art and the creation process.. Thank you Petros for the interesting and funny tour, we had a really good time :)
