Not long back from a 9 night stay here. We have always stayed at the sister hotel closer to the ***** alfagar village. Faultless flights and transfers with jet2. We arrived in resort around 12.30 and our room was ready which was great as official checkin is 4, We wasn’t in main hotel but a 5/10 min walk away but we got taken in mini bus . We had a 2 bed superior apt which was absolutely lovely, Looked like it had a mini glow up. Bedrooms were really big plenty of space as a family of 4, My 2 are 20 and 16 and over 6ft and there was more than enough space in their room. It had everything you could need for SC Although no oven which I only discovered last day . Lol I don’t cook on holiday but some might do just check first. Always had an overnight in the village. The room was spotless and cleaners also came in a few times while we were there. Not sure I’d book superior again as balcony was must smaller than first floor. We were in 2 nd floor which did have lovely views but we had Ltd space couldn’t all fit around table and no sun alday on balcony. I did request ground floor which at village has always been granted. I have RA and fibro , I do keep myself quite fit but because area so hilly the stairs to apt were a killer lol. There is a safe in main bedroom which is free and good aircon which is also free. As mentioned before we did have groups of boys and girls , teens to early 20s but honestly they were all lovely kids and all very polite. We were woken one time at 4 am but they were leaving . A lot has been mentioned about walk into town which is only 500 m away but stairs of doom coming back after a meal and cocktails was a killer. Unfortunately we kind of had to go to main square most evenings due to hotel being in a residential area , with no real bars or shops. We did find one behind hotel which did the most amazing foods and host was fantastic, Joseph’s . Unfortunately again any one with mobility issues may struggle. As no real footpaths and part busy road but again it was the hills. Definatly worth trying though. There is also an Aldi and Lidl about a 10/15 min walk away but again terribly steep. We went wrong way on way back , and nearly ended up divorced lol Unless you book a taxi don’t do a large shop. It would have been nice to have a mini market on site . Can’t fault old town we eat in some lovely places try back streets don’t stick to the square , prices are similar to home tbh . We spent around €100/150 a day. All in all we had a lovely holiday any staff we encountered in hotel were all really friendly. Not sure it’s great if you have younger children as not a lot going on other than pool, But if you get a wrist band they will call you a cab and you can go over and use all four hotel’s facilities, Irish family we were neighboured with did that most days as their boys were 10 and 13. Belle appartement très bien situer avec vu sur la piscine ,tout est fait pour passer un bon séjour mais malheureusement tout ça et gâches par des personnes qu’on aucun savoir vivre des nuisances sonores exagérer et ça toute la nuit de plus les appartements sont mal isoler on entendais même les gens aller au toilette entre la musique à fond les gens qui parle fort et la voisine qui nous fait participer à ses nuits agiter interdit au moins de 18 on a bien subit. Le personnel est démunis face à ces animaux je leurs conseillerais de prendre un vigile la nuit même l’après midi la piscine souvent des jeunes qui boit au bord de la piscine donc pas terrible pour conclure ce lieux devrait être préciser que c’est essentiellement louer pour les jeunes ça éviterais toute déconvenue c st bien dommage car l’appartement était agréable propre personnel à l’écoute mais a fuir en famille

Buon hotel con appartamenti molto spaziosi e puliti, particolarmente notevole la cucina estremamente spaziosa. Bello anche il balconcino vista mare e piscina con piccolo tavolino ideale per la colazione. Buona posizione, distante dal caos notturno dei ma a pochi minuti di camminata dal centro ( si segnala però che è necessario compiere una scalinata non molto semplice in salita al caldo). Parcheggio abbastanza comodo sulla strada, due supermercati a pochi minuti di macchina

Gångavstånd till gamla stan samt till fin sandstrand. Nära och billigt att ta sig till andra stränder. Ingen restaurang på hotellet endast en poolbar med öl och cider samt läsk. Gick att beställa toast och chips i poolbaren. Hotellet var ok ingen lyx standard. Tyvärr hårda sängar. Fanns en matbutik som hette Aldi och Lidel som låg 7 min gångväg från hotellet.

We went to these apartments as a large group for a 3 night stay in 3 different apartments- it was brilliant from start to finish! Every member of our group expressed how clean their apartments were. We had a fantastic view from apartment and staff at the bar and reception went above and beyond to make you enjoy your holiday. Only small downside was no cleaning equipment in room to keep kitchen tidy and all the steps into town!! Other than this there were no other negatives to the accommodation- would definitely look forward to staying again.

Booking - got better deal by booking directly with Alfagar's website itself. Check In - quick and efficient, young girl at desk was very helpful and welcoming. Location - excellent (despite the 99 steps from the Square in Old Town) for Old Town access, but not so much for the *****. We thought the steps would kill us, but it wasnt as bad as we expected, but we are a couple in their late 30's. Might not suit older people. Suitability - couples who arent bothered by a bit more noise around the pool (due to groups/hens/stags). There were a few smaller families but very few with small kids, moreso teenagers or older. Not many facilities for small children either aside from the pool. Other Alfagar hotels might be better for these families. Apartment (502): *General - Apartment was clean and spacious enough for the two of us that were staying there for ten nights, a little dated but this didnt bother us at all, once it was clean. Table and four chairs in dining area, couch and two armchairs in living area. *Kitchen - Small kitchen with fridge and small freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, hob, oven/grill as well as utensils such as pots, strainers, bowls, jugs, serving spoons, knife, chopping board, etc and the usual plates, bowls, mugs, glasses etc. Tea towel provided but no washing up liquid or dishcloth/scrub. I have stayed in apartments elsewhere before where a small amount of this was provided - supplies from the shops are too big, even for ten nights. *Storage - Plentiful - in main hallway, near bedroom and in bedroom. Also extra heavier blankets and pillows provided in storage, as well as sweeping brush/mop. *Bathroom - spacious enough, but no windows/poor fan, so got quite steamy, even with door left open while showering. *Bedroom - two single beds pushed together which was fine for us, nice vanity desk near window with plug and light nearby, full length mirror on one of wardrobe doors also. *Balcony - Decent enough size with sea view and table and four chairs. Sun rose out to left hand side and eventually set on right of balcony, so got pretty decent sun on balcony all day. *Air Con - there did seem to be a box above bedroom door and above tv and apartment/bedroom was not too stuffy until later in the week. The living room one was not showing lights to show it was on, but the one in the bedroom was, but was not making any noise. Not sure if it was working or not but we werent bothered enough with heat to check with reception. Apartment Complex: *Pool/Pool area - small enough pool but sufficient to cool down in. Plentiful sunbeds, we were not short of them, even on mornings where we went down later. Small pool bar open from 12 to approx 5/6, with supply of beers/cider/alcopops, etc and crisps, burgers, hotdogs, toasted sandwiches. *Second pool - there is also a second block of apartments out to left when looking out at pool, with another similar sized pool. Stayed for 3 nights with 4 adults sharing one apartment. The apartment was big enough for 4 and clean, albeit a bit dated. Apartments are in a good location about 0.4 miles from the Old Town Square.....but as in other reviews, there is a very steep hill and 95 steps that will take it out of you. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. We had an evening flight and had to check out at 11 am. We were told there was a shower room but it only had a cold shower there was no warm water which was really disappointing. They need to put put hot water in the area.

Nice affordable hotel. Pool area is nice. AC installed but not working yet so worth checking if coming in summer. Hot water also hot and miss but nice spacious rooms. No pools towels most days so bring one with! Ask for a room above ground floor as I had people walking past at all hours so needed to have curtains and windows closed.

Good location with beautiful views. Slightly older property so a little run down but they are updating it slowly. No AC which was not the worst for us as we were there in end of March but it probably is miserable for people staying there in the summer. Overall would recommend this property.

Rooms were spacious, outdoor pool was lovely. Perfect for families. Difficult for the cab drivers to find the building and it was quite a uphill hike from old town. Overall loved it.

Fuimos al principio de la temporada y todo estaba perfecto. Nuestro apartamento era cómodo y estaba perfectamente equipado. Las vistas al mar y a la piscina desde el balcón resultaban relajantes tras los ajetreados días recorriendo el Algarve (zona espectacular). Lo único un poco feo fue la actitud de algunos turistas, saltándose las normas anticovid y comportándose irresponsablemente.

We are just back from a beautiful stay here. It was our first time taking our 2 year old abroad, and so were a bit nervous about what to expect, however it was a brilliant experience for us all! All of the staff at Cerro Malpique were so friendly and helpful and they all took time to chat to our little one/give him high 5s whenever he passed them by. We opted for a 1 bedroom apartment and were delighted by how spacious it was. The staff had set up a travel cot in the bedroom for our wee one, and we slept on the sofa bed in the living room. The apartment was clean and fresh with a lovely balcony. The pool area was perfect for us and never too busy to get a lounger. The terrace beside the pool has stunning views over the sea. The location was brilliant, the steps weren't too much of a hassle and there is a way to get to the town avoiding them if you walk out past the Aldi. Cannot recommend Albufeira more and these appartments!

lovely apartments in great location close to the old town - fantastic sea views from our 3rd floor apartment - staff very accommodating and ensured our bags were all moved to and from the apartment upon arrival and departure - also arranged a coach trip for us wifi bit temperamental in the apartment but bearable - pool quiet during the time we were there apart from a few noisy lads one day late in the afternoon late in the week surrounding area hilly and if you intend visiting the new town on a regular basis be prepared !!!
