It’s unfortunate that I need to give this review but due to the room condition and lack of communication from the manager I will. The room I was given smelled of mildew and something else I couldn’t put my finger on. Being exhausted I figured it was coming from outside through the AC unit. Went to bed and woke up with a sore throat and headache. Finally at 3am I decided to pack up and leave since I had a long drive. I asked the front desk if there was a way to get reimbursed for the room since obviously there was a humidity problem and potential mold issue. I also shared that I discovered what the other smell was…two dirty diapers in the garbage under the desk. She shared that because I used ******* I probably wouldn’t get a refund, being an outside booking site. She said she would need the manager to follow up. The manager was supposed to be in at 8am and she would give my name and number to be contacted. Now more than 48 hours out and still not contacted, I assume they plan to do nothing about it. Fair enough. At least I got a few hours rest, but in the future, if I need a room in Alabaster, I think I’ll try the hotel next door.

It ******, I’m 73 years old and the elevator was broken so I had to carry my luggage up the stairs. The toilet seat was small and didn’t fit the seat. The ice machine was broken. The mirror lights didn’t work, so it was darker in the bathroom also .So staying at a holiday inn was ( the best surprise is no surprise ) well we were surprised that all the things didn’t work.

The elevator was not in service, the back door did not work. Ice machines were out of order. We found one dead roach & 1 alive roach.

Awful experience. Front desk lady referred everything to her manager. Tub wouldn’t drain, hot water didn’t work. Was given tool to pull hair from the drain in the tub. I’m not a holiday inn employee but yet, I fixed this issue that they won’t have to for the next guest. Definitely was upset about the whole experience.

After checking in and going up to our room, we found a electrical cord taped together with painters tape, and overhead lights that would not turn off with the switch. We tried calling down to the front desk but the phone in the room didn’t work. After going down to the front desk, the lady came up to show us how to move the sofa to unplug the light. Which we had to move every time we wanted the light off or on. No apologies or offer to change rooms. Only explanation was some rooms are like this and they were planning on fixing it in the future.

No blow dryer. 1 wash cloth.

Overall it was fine until morning when I learned bugs were coming out of a crack in the ceiling. The front desk was notified and it was immediately dismissed and not taken seriously Uncharacteristic of a solid brand and especially given extraordinary service in the south.
