Interesting and convivial hosts made for our New Year's Eve stay an enjoyable and memorable experience. We stayed in the rather snug but quaint Shepherd room with its balcony overlooking the magnificent specimen trees in the beautiful surrounding gardens. The gardens were full of bird song, especially the tuneful bellbird. The owners hosted a delightful early evening drinks and canapes gathering of guests in the garden and even took some photographs of the group and individually. It was a good mixture of fun and laughter amongst the various international clientele. We relaxed in the spacious and interesting sitting room which was crammed full with an eclectic mix of antiques and fine bone English china and glassware which captured our imagination and attention. The breakfast choice was sensational with a healthy option and plentiful portions. A great time all-in-all, to ring in the New Year in a private and peaceful setting close to all of the amenities of the impressive township of Akaroa.

We were thrilled to discover such a beautiful guest house. Sharon and Noel are the perfect hosts, exuding professionalism and warmth, and they kept us well entertained over delicious breakfasts and evening drinks and canapés. The house is a delight with comfortable rooms overlooking beautifully tended gardens. We look forward to returning in future. Thank you!

This beautiful historic B&B was our most treasured stay during our three week trip to New Zealand. We had the Napier room which has a botanical theme and is beautifully presented. The bed and sheets were amazing, no detail has been forgotten in the room. The house itself and gardens are fabulous and full of old world charm, even a gramophone! Sharon was an excellent host (Noel away sailing) and struck the perfect balance with her amazing breakfasts (try her scrambled eggs) and cosy early evening nibbles in the lounge. Can’t recommend this place highly enough. If you are going to Akaroa stay nowhere else!

We stayed at Beaufort House for 3 nights at the end of our 6 week tour of NZ. And what a lovely finale! Sharon and Noel were very welcoming. Our bed was very comfortable and breakfast around the large dining table excellent. Noel cooks an excellent omelette on request! Sharon served drinks and canapes each evening at 6 so we felt we were at a country house party. It was lovely to chat with our hosts and the other guests from around the world. Beaufort House is a short walk away from the beautiful historical town and the sea shore. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and left rested and relaxed. Thank you.
