I had been coming here for years and the hotel itself is the usual good standards of a Hampton Hilton, but the car park situation has become absolutely diabolical. It is that bad I have finally started staying elsewhere on my visits to Aberdeen. The place is overrun by offshore workers not even staying at the hotel and Hilton have no interest to resolve it, culminating in regular paying guests getting issued 100 pound parking tickets on their stay.

Disappointing stay overall and really not good enough given the room rate is on par with full-service hotels. Context, I’m a long term Hilton Diamond member who stays at various Hilton brands extensively, including Hampton hotels around the world. That doesn’t mean I think I’m somehow superior to anyone else - it just means I have a LOT of experience stopping in Hilton brand hotels and am loyal (though starting to question the value of my loyalty given the lack of recognition from Hilton). I am staying here for 3 days in October 2023 for Business. First the positives - the place is new and very clean, the maids clean the room to a high standard on a daily basis, and the room itself is comfortable with a nice armchair. The aircon is super efficient. It’s not luxurious by any stretch of the imagination, but that’s not what Hampton is about. And the ‘Hello & welcome’ card in the room on arrival was a nice touch. Next the ‘meh’ - the TVs in the room are small compared to other Hiltons & Hamptons. The shelf it sits on could easily take a much bigger TV but this TV is smaller than my home office PC monitor. Also there’s not much imagination gone into the design - compared to for example, the Hampton at Waterloo which has funky pictures, mini Smeg fridges, vibrant colour schemes etc, this Hampton is bland and functional. Now the ‘Not very good’ bits. I tend to be a heavy sleeper so it’s very rare I get woken up in hotels, including ones in busy locations in Central London. But here I am being woken up several times a night. The doors are really thin and seem to let all noise into the room. I really pity those who get a room opposite the lifts as they must really suffer. Unlike most hotels where there is a lift lobby, the lifts here open directly opposite bedroom doors. Also The location is a bit ‘middle of nowhere’ - the nearest pub is a 20+ minute walk away (and that isn’t much cop). Finally the ‘not happy’ bits. The “restaurant menu” is really just a list of microwave standard meals. Choices are a Mac n Cheese, Lasagne, Pasta, Jalfrezi, Chilli con Carne, Feta Salad, Fishcakes Chicken Mushroom pie, Singapore Noodles or Red Thai Curry. Really poor selection really, made even worse by the fact that during my stay 2 of these were “unavailable”. Now you could argue that Hampton is a “cut down” Hilton brand - but they are still happy to charge premium prices for drinks, and I’m paying more per night here for this Hampton in Aberdeen than I have paid for full service Hiltons in London. The other show-breaker for me, is the car park. It’s rammed - during my entire stay I haven’t seen a single space available, and there are cars parked on the grass verges, on the pavements, all over the place. Taking a walk around the car park it’s clear many of these have been here some time (the brakes are rusted and there’s a layer of grime on the windscreens) suggesting many (maybe most?) of the cars in the car park belong to offshore workers. I ended up having to change hotels--and I am a Hilton Honors Gold member. There is NO airport shuttle. An AIRPORT hotel by Hilton does not have a shuttle to the AIRPORT. They cheerfully told me it was only a 10-15 minute walk to the airport--probably in the rain. I am flying home for knee surgery. This was not acceptable. Don't stay here if you are doing something crazy like flying out of the Aberdeen airport and don't have a car. The cost of the taxi makes this an expensive choice.

Room is great, very clean and well laid out. The disappointment came when I tried to come down for dinner. Despite the place being relatively empty the menus was shockingly poor! 5 items in the main courses and 3 unavailable, I went and asked the staff, they said they’d find out for me, 5 minutes later I had to go and ask them for the response. They looked at me like it was the first time they’d seen me and told me they were out of everything. Very poor service. Now halfway through my meal they tell me my choice of beer is unavailable! This hotel restaurant is a joke and a bad one at that! I won’t be staying here again, if you have the misfortune to do so then I recommend heading over to Dyce Farm for a decent meal at a great price instead!

This hotel must be wirst out of all airport hotels. First of all try to get there with a suit case. No bus going there. So walking from airport takes ages. Secondly there are no stairs to make your route shorter you have to follow path all the way around hotel building. Who even planned it that way. Restaurant wow! You should see that menu. Honestly may be ok for one night, not for 5. Main dish is pretty much nachos. No soup, no choise of macaroni no seafood or fish. Not even simple linguini with salmon or vegetables. No ceasar salad with choise of salmon or shrimps. Worst i ever seen. So you have to go to eat elsewhere which is massive inconvenience again. Try my best to keep away from this hotel.

The hotel is very clean and staff were friendly but the systems employed by the hotel do not make for a comfortable staff. The system for ordering food is from an App and not easily understood, the food itself is just heated in a microwave and not actually cooked. The choice was disappointing and the prices for both food and drinks were extortionate, not what you are looking for after a long day. I appreciate that most of the clientele are only one night stop overs before or after a flight but I would not recommend it for food or drinks.

The queen room is modern comfortable and clean, apart from the foot long hair I found in the shower tray.

The bed is also comfortable, the TV is a bit small for the room size although that is purely my opinion! And is limited to volume 20 which could be a problem if you where slightly deaf.

The hotel forgo the need to tell you when you are booking that this hotel is being used as a COVID-19 isolation hotel for the oil Industry. Which took away my Ability to make an informed choice whether to stay here, to protect myself and family. The fact my booking company were told that the bar was closed as it was a new hotel and it wasn’t open yet. 

Well let’s move onto the food! Quite frankly I have never been Presented with such awful food in any establishment. 
The lamb curry had 4 small Pieces of lamb, the portion was small, as was the rice. I ordered the chunky chips and was presented with overcooked and scorched regular chips at a premium price of £3.50.

The following evening a lot of the items on the menu had disappeared and there are not many to start with! so l ventured to try the steak and ale pie which came with chips, again it was just the regular chips and not very many of those Which where overcooked and scorched.

I asked the staff if the menu had any starters this evening? the staff said she would go and check and never came back! I had again to ask another member of staff who then came back and told me they had no starter available this evening, there are also no sweets/desserts at this hotel ever! 

I ordered my dinner on the online app on my phone, eventually my dinner arrived however my drink had still not arrived, I got up and went to the Reception and ask them could you bring my drink over, staff member brought my drink and asked was this the drink I had ordered with my dinner? I said yes as they had not been delivered yet.

I know this is starting to sound a bit like a comedy sketch from Fawlty Towers it’s not far off it, I have been in many Hiltons all over the world and I have never experienced anything like this before.

Okay so this brings us to breakfast, surprisingly breakfast was reasonably okay, the only option for eggs were scrambled, no option for fried or poached. The bacon was teetering on the edge of been overdone, the serving dishes were becoming somewhat empty when I arrived and it was barely through morning service.
More attention required during breakfast service and tables need cleared as there were lots of tables that were clearly needing readdressed.
To be fair breakfast was actually maybe a 7 out of 10.

This hotel however would score 3 out of 10 on the grand scheme of things, Parking is a premium if you can get a parking space you’re really gonna be lucky, Don’t get caught Parking out on the road you will get fined! the staff are friendly but I really needing some work.
If you are a Hilton users like myself this is not what you will be expecting.

This is a new Hotel it is Bright clean and reasonably fresh.

Where to start.. Maybe with the positives (that wont take long).. As it is a new hotel, the room was modern and nice to look at.. The end. Now for everything else. On arrival to my 2 week stay (in Dyce due to Business, thinking the Hilton would be a great hotel to stay in) First issue arrived as i drove up, seeing cars abandoned all over the forecourt it became clear there was going to be no spaces to park my car in their small car park - which was a daily issue. Then on arrival, it was like going backwards 2 year as the whole hotel seemed to still acting as Isolation hub - I was not there to isolate, nor notified the place would still be operating like this. Hotel facilities boasts having a gym, so after packing gym gear for my stay I was greeted by a poster on the gym door saying Closed due to covid... When booking breakfast and Evening meals you had 2 choices - Get it sent cold to your room in a plastic box via "isolation booking menu", or go the their resteraunt which was strictly booking only (never busy) and tables of 1 only which also meant ordering on your phone via the isolation menu.. The menu was extremely limited and basic such as mac and cheese, lasagne etc with only side ever available cold half cooked chips each night. As for breakfasts I got a call each night asking what time i'd like my Breakfast pack delivered, which entailed a wrapped up look warm bacon roll in a soggy bun - I did ask if i could substitute the bacon roll for something else such as cereal - "not really, no" was my answer. 2 of the Mornings they forgot to deliver my breakfast - maybe not a bad thing. Then to the room - Many sleepless nights caused by a overly noisy Air con which kept making loud vibrations to the point I had to start sleeping with ear plugs in at night, followed by the wafer thin pillows my head into requiring me to stack 3 high to make for the height of 1 normal one. Believe it or not I'm not normally one to complain, but 2 weeks in this place was so poor I couldn't wait to leave - And by leaving this review maybe anyone else about to book will know what they're in for in advance. This Hotel certainly damages the Hilton reputation.

The staff were fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. Decent size rooms which were very comfortable. The food was horrendous. Ordered a Thai green curry. Look at the photo and make your own assessment. Just Eat come to the rescue with McDonalds
