I booked this hotel via Trip.com and the experience was disappointing, especially at the start.
The first room smelled damp and musty, the bed had dirt marks and quite a few long hairs that obviously weren’t mine, and the elevator in the building had a bad odor every time I used it.
I called the front desk to ask for a room change. Their first response was that I’d need to pay an extra 30 RMB “cleaning fee” to switch rooms, which felt completely unreasonable and left a very bad taste. After some back-and-forth they finally agreed to waive it, but the cleaning lady who came to check clearly thought I was exaggerating or lying – she kept giving me doubtful looks.
The second room was fairly great: no hairs, no strong smells, and everything worked (Wi-Fi, air-con, hot water). The area is quiet and the basic facilities are decent for the price.
Overall it went from just okay to good. The initial room was genuinely unclean and the staff’s attitude (especially asking for money just to get a clean room) made the whole thing unpleasant. Expected better from a place listed on Trip.com.
