This was yet another sad El Mouradi hotel – the chain favoured by Voyages Jules Verne for the tour of Tunisia we were on. They really are nasty hotels. Judging by photos, the hotel prides itself on its swimming pool. Hmmm… The sunbeds were old and the cushions falling to pieces. There were no pool towels – you had to bring them from your room and then exchange them at reception for fresh towels for use in the bathroom. The so-called pool attendant did nothing at all. The buffet food was as drab and unappetising as in all their other hotels. The crowning glory is the sugary orange squash they serve at breakfast insead of fresh orange juice – in a country abundant in oranges. Oh yes, and the sugary breakfast cereals – and even moorway service stations sell bags of sugar-free muesli/granola. All in all, these Mouradi hotels clouded all the positive things about the tour and simply serve to make a return visit to Tunisia out of the question. Sad, but true. We will never go back.
