Whale Chorus presents Alice: an interactive theatre workshop for children at the Multi-Arts Pavilion (MAP mima) in Speers Point, Lake Macquarie. This workshop, inspired by the story of Alice in Wonderland, invites young audiences to immerse themselves in the world of Alice and take part in a variety of interactive activities. From solving riddles at the Mad Hatter's tea party to playing croquet with a house of cards, children aged 12 and under will engage in creative play and storytelling alongside skilled performers. The workshop aims to center children as protagonists, nurturing their imaginations and problem-solving skills through interactive storytelling. Founded by theatre artist Janie Gibson, Whale Chorus is a Newcastle-based theatre company dedicated to creating immersive and immediate theatrical experiences. Supported by the NSW Government, this workshop is wheelchair accessible and features flashing lights for performances. Limited parking is available near the venue at MAP mima, with alternative parking located on Park Road near Speers Point Pool.
