Embark on a picturesque journey passing through Wetton Mill and Ecton Hill. Begin at Butterton Church, then follow the trail through the village towards the Hoo, descending into the valley towards Wetton Mill with convenient restroom facilities. Traverse Dale farm, ascend skirting Sugar Loaf to Broad Ecton and the Ecton trig point. Enjoy a gentle descent, passing the copper-topped Foley, crossing Dale bridge, and ascending to the restored Littler’s Barn. Admire the sight of Butterton church as you proceed south of Warslow, crossing Warslow Brook's valley before returning through meadows to Butterton village. Conclude the walk with a refreshing break at the Black Lion. This event is part of the Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival taking place from April 26 to May 6, 2024.
