The Birmingham Jane Jacobs Walk and Award’s Launch, 3

Join us to celebrate the renowned American urban activist and writer Jane Jacobs as we explore Birmingham’s architectural landscape. Jacobs was born on 4 May 1916, and walks are held annually around the world in her honour. Save Smallbrook are delighted to invite you to the inaugural Birmingham Jane Jacobs Walk on Saturday 3rd May 2025, led by Mike Dring (Birmingham Modernist Society) and Joe Holyoak (C20 Society West Midlands).
Beginning at 1pm at Station Street, we’ll visit celebrated and at-risk buildings across Birmingham city centre, finishing at 4pm at Graham Winteringham’s masterpiece the Repertory Theatre on Centenary Square. Highlights include New Street Signal Box (Bicknell and Hamilton, 1965) and the recently restored Grand Hotel (Thomson Plevins, 1879), together with at-risk buildings Smallbrook Ringway Centre (James Roberts, 1962), and Corporation Square (Frederick Gibberd, 1971). Whether you're a long-time resident or a first-time visitor, this walk is a great opportunity to see the city from a new perspective.
There will be a reception at the Rep to launch the Birmingham Jane Jacobs Award 2025, hosted by Andy Street, Chair of the Board of Trustees to the theatre. Now in its second year, the award recognises the unique contribution of women to the protection of the built environment in Birmingham.

我們進行了一次專門的旅行並度過了愉快的幾個小時。錯層有很多值得一看的地方，可以讓你保持興趣。企鵝很好，章魚也出現了，我們很想看到更多的水獺。我的孫女很喜歡這一切，隧道裡的烏龜很漂亮。它很乾淨，我們度過了一段愉快的時光，肯定會回去，工作人員很樂於助人，
它真的很不錯，值得一次又一次地參觀。

我們去酒店放下行李后，去吃了一頓米其林一星餐館的大餐，然後開始認識這座城市。首先我們來到了維多利亞廣場，一座仿希臘神廟的建築很吸引眼球，這居然是他們的市政廳，它邊上一座漂亮的巴洛克建築是伯明翰博物館和美術館，也可以免費参觀，於是進去小逛了一下，人不多，展品還是挺豐富的，從古埃及的到現在藝術品，都有展出。

有中超，酒樓，還有很多其他特色餐廳選擇。在這裏不難找到想吃的東西。不過今次選了這間酒樓，食物有點令人失望。
