第戎美術館的第一批永久館藏來自於第戎繪畫學校。1775年，繪畫學校設立了自己的&ldquo;羅馬獎學金&rdquo;。每年，學校會選出一個繪畫班學生和一個雕塑班的學生前往永恆之城&mdash;&mdash;羅馬進修。作為回報，學生們要在四年的學習結束前向學校提供一幅臨摹大師的繪畫或雕塑的作品。為此在十八世紀八十年代，增建了公爵府的東翼以收藏這些來自意大利和其他地方的作品。             在這個新古典主義風格的展廳&ldquo;塑像廳&rdquo;里陳列中諸如《Borghese角鬥士》，《Belvedere的阿波羅》，《美第齊的維納斯》等臨摹。                抬頭往上看，那是1784年&ldquo;羅馬獎學金&rdquo;學者皮埃爾&middot;保羅&middot;普呂東(Pierre Paul Prud&rsquo;hon)的天頂畫。當時勃艮第議會雄心勃勃地要在此複製羅馬巴爾貝里尼宮的《天意的勝利》。雖說普呂冬對此畫的作者Pietro da Cortona很不感冒，可他也不得不大概其照着原畫的模樣畫了這幅油畫，把教皇烏爾班八世的標誌換成了象徵當時勃艮第執政者孔德親王的徽章和寓言。

第戎小貓頭鷹像

第戎小貓頭鷹像是位於法國第戎聖母院北側外牆上的著名雕刻，它已成為第戎的吉祥物，傳說用左手撫摸它並右手按在左胸許願，願望就會靈驗 。由於被眾多遊客撫摸，雕像已被摩挲得模糊不清。另外，第戎街道的地面上有小鷹圖案的路標，它貫穿第戎老城的多條街道，是以貓頭鷹為標誌的特色旅行線路。遊客可順着地面上黃銅打造的貓頭鷹標誌行走，步行探訪第戎城內的22處經典名勝。
