About Us: The Play Reads Initiative Program is a groundbreaking venture dedicated to nurturing emerging and mid-career playwrights, empowering them to craft compelling Australian narratives. Spearheaded by esteemed writer, architect, and photographer Pasquale Palmieri, our mission is to provide a platform for local artists to develop their original scripts. Through our monthly reading series, we aim to offer writers the opportunity to hear their creations come to life, while fostering a vibrant community of actors and artists. Plot Summary: Silently Screaming is about a girl's journey from childhood to adulthood. The play features Sam at various stages of her life: Young Sam (aged 7), Teenager Sam (aged 13), Young Adult Sam (aged 19) and Sam (aged 24). It will cut between the present moment and flashbacks. These memories and stories will be told by previous versions of Sam in conversation with Sam in the present. Throughout the play, Sam will find out she can not run from her past. As her past lives and breathes with her. And that, in order to heal, she must find a way to process her pain and learn from it. Join us as we embark on this captivating theatrical odyssey.
