Join the e-flux Screening Room in Brooklyn on February 13, 2024, for a rare screening of film and video works by renowned artist Rachel Rose. Following the screening, there will be a discussion with the artist herself. Rose's work delves into the evolving relationship between humans and the environment, exploring how it has influenced storytelling and belief systems. By drawing from cinematic innovation and utilizing various mediums such as paintings, sculptures, and drawings, Rose connects the present with deep time. The films showcased include "Sitting Feeding Sleeping" (2013), "A Minute Ago" (2014), "Everything and More" (2015), "Lake Valley" (2016), and "Wil-o-Wisp" (2018). These films tackle themes of mortality, history, and our place in the infinite universe, incorporating footage from cryogenics labs, space stations, and even nineteenth-century illustrations. Rachel Rose's work has been exhibited internationally, and this is a unique opportunity to experience her thought-provoking films.
