Join us for a fun and empowering day of all things carpentry!
Instructors will start off with a tool talk and demo, introducing a number of common hand and power tools, then will open up a forum for questions and feedback.
After getting to know the tools and learning the safety guidelines, participants will get started on building garden support structures.
LUSH Valley will provide all necessary power tools and building materials. Eye and ear protection will be available on a shared basis, but where possible, participants are encouraged to bring their own.
Things to Bring:
Sun protection
Close-toed shoes
Personal protective equipment
A water bottle and lunch
Notes:
No previous experience required.
All power tools and building equipment will be provided.
There will be potable water and an outhouse facility on site.
This workshop is intended for people who self-identify as women or non-binary.
Take in the beauty of the Tsolum Garden and connect with community while gaining skills and confidence in the world of carpentry! Space is limited, so don't wait to register.
Amber Hamilton 
stumbled upon natural building and permaculture while travelling in 2012. After working with a number of international organizations, Amber returned to BC and joined the Mudgirls Natural Building Collective. She has a passion for teaching this unique trade, and sharing her knowledge with eager minds and muscles.
