Bunkin embarked on this series in 2012 after being mesmerized by a small Egypto-Greek head at the Barnes Foundation. Since then, the collection has expanded to approximately 20 canvases, each offering a fresh perspective on the sculptures they depict. By focusing on shape, color, and texture, Bunkin aims to shed light on intricate details that may otherwise go unnoticed. The exhibition also features a self-portrait paying homage to the esteemed portrait painter Giambattista Moroni, as well as a touching portrait of Bill Anthony, a neighbor and fellow artist.
