[holding] space | a deep listening workshop is an extraordinary event that allows participants to engage in an intimate and collaborative experience with artist Sammy Hawker. This workshop, which follows the methodology described in Pauline Oliveros' Quantum Listening, aims to bring together a group of 12 individuals to explore the depths of sound and create a unique artwork using the water of Sydney Harbour. As we gather on the evening of February's full moon, we will delve into the power of listening as a form of activism, the significance of water as a carrier of memory, and our connection to the unseen. 

This captivating workshop, taking place at Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf in Double Bay, offers a profound opportunity to discover our relationship with the world beyond our immediate perception. The event will be held on Gadigal & Birrabirragal Country, honoring the rich indigenous heritage of the land. Participants are requested to join us promptly at 5 pm on the veranda of the Cultural Hub, located on the ground floor of the Gallery. 

In addition to the transformative experience, attendees will take home an exclusive 8 x 8 inch chromatogram print (edition of 12 + AP) as a memento of this exceptional occasion. To ensure your utmost comfort, it is recommended to bring a yoga mat or picnic blanket, a cushion, as well as a notebook and pen. Please note that refunds will not be available after booking due to material costs and limited space.
