Prepare yourself to improve your health at our in-person event: Boxing Fitness Classes for Adults Living in Greenwich, London. This FREE program is designed to empower adults to enhance their well-being through structured exercise, utilizing non-contact boxing techniques, or boxercise. Sponsored by Greenwich Get Active, our 24-week Boxing Fitness for Adults aims to motivate individuals of all ages to adopt and maintain an active lifestyle to combat health conditions such as heart disease, obesity, and the risk of Type 2 diabetes. At the beginning of the program, participants will complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) to identify any health concerns and enable coaches to evaluate individual goals. Phase 1 focuses on developing boxing skills while improving fitness, endurance, and core strength. In Phase 2, participants will reassess their initial goals and set new targets, which will be monitored through self-assessments and peer reviews in the latter weeks of the program. Upon completion, participants will be directed to further opportunities to sustain an active lifestyle, including local gyms and boxing clubs. Anticipated outcomes of this program include improved fitness levels, enhanced mental health and well-being, and better blood glucose control for those with or at risk of Type 2 diabetes.
