Explore Salcey Forest in a new way as we take a short, slow walk through the beautiful woods. We'll try out fun multi-sensory activities that encourage your whole family to unwind and connect together!
Slowing down in the woods can help all of us to relax and manage emotions, improve our sleep and concentration, and boost our immune system. No fitness or experience is needed - we'll make sure you find your own way to connect with nature, and leave with ideas and activities you can use at home.
Good to know:
Session designed for children aged 5+ and their carers. Please contact us before booking if you are considering bringing younger children.
Children must be accompanied, max 3 child places per adult carer ticket.
As we’ll be exploring an outdoors space, make sure you are all wearing clothes and shoes that will keep you warm and dry, and that can get a little (or a lot!) dirty.
If you have a picnic mat/ground sheet or similar, please bring this for sitting activities (we will have some spares available if needed).
Please use the questions on the booking form to let us know if there is anything we should be aware of, to take care of you and your family during the session (e.g. allergies, health issues, difficulties with mobility).
During the session any distance we cover (max 1 kilometre) will be at a slow pace. 
Unfortunately, however,
 
Forest Families is not currently suitable for pushchairs, or anyone using a wheelchair / with severe mobility limitations
 – if you have any questions or concerns please contact us prior to the event.
Humans only, furry friends unfortunately need to stay at home (with the exception of assistance dogs).
Parking:
 
parking at Salcey is free for Forestry England members.
 
For non-Forestry England members - to save on the normal cost of £8, please ensure you pre-book your parking with us
 
when buying your ticket. You will then be able to park for up to an hour after the finish time for your session for just £3.80, giving you the chance to enjoy more time in the woods or a snack at the cafe during your visit!
