Experience the art of beading with Katie Longboat, a talented Cree and Mohawk beadwork artist hailing from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory in Southern Ontario. Drawing inspiration from her family roots, the natural world, and both Cree and Mohawk beadwork styles, Katie creates stunning jewelry pieces and beaded artwork. Currently based in Toronto, Katie's work showcases intricate designs, vibrant colors, and contemporary materials that reflect her unique artistic vision.

Join Katie Longboat at the Art Gallery of Mississauga for a special event where she will guide participants in creating a circle-beaded broach on cloth. This project offers a hands-on opportunity to learn from a skilled artist and explore the beauty of beadwork. The event, supported by RAMA Gaming Centre Mississauga and Charitable Gaming, Community Good, will take place on March 23, 2024, at 300 City Centre Dr, Mississauga, ON L5B 2G6.
