Eleanor and Sarah are on hand to help you repair and upcycle your old or damaged clothes. Please book a free ticket to confirm your attendance, as we may not have space for you otherwise. If you bring along your own clothes to work on, we can offer advice and ideas on how you can repair or alter them. If you would just like to have a go at some simple techniques, we have spare fabrics so you can practice on those first. The Create Place is set up with sewing machines and basic sewing equipment to get you started. We're not able to provide all materials so if there are any extra trims or fabrics you specifically want to use please bring these along too. We are a friendly and inclusive group, we invite everyone to share any ideas they may have with others on how we can mend and refashion clothes to combat textile waste. We also have a small amount of 'Donation-Only' tickets available, your donation helps us to continue running these workshops for free so we can support everyone to mend their clothes, regardless of their financial income. We are so pleased that we have been given a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund to fund these workshops meaning we can keep these workshops free to attend. Welcome to the Mosaic Workshop! Come join us for a fun and creative afternoon at Bodley Studio. Let your artistic side shine as you learn the ancient art of creating beautiful mosaics. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the process to make your own unique mosaic. All materials are provided, but if you have any broken bits of china, shells, seaglass, buttons etc you may wish to incorporate into your design, please bring them along as these will make your piece even more special. In this workshop, we will be making concertina zines following on from warm-up activities, creative prompts, and a relaxed block of time for us to collectively create and celebrate 2 years of the Cut Out Club! 🥳 Whether you’re a long-time zine enthusiast or brand new to this unique art form, join us for an afternoon of hands-on creativity, connection, and inspiration. You’ll have the opportuinty to learn the basics of concertina folding: a fun, flexible way to create zines that expand and unfold in exciting ways. Together, we'll explore storytelling, collage, and self-expression through words and images. Come celebrate our zine community, share stories, and leave with a one-of-a-kind DIY collage concertina zine. Don’t miss this chance to connect, create, and contribute to our growing club of zine-makers on this special occasion! ✨ You do not need any prior experience to take part (though we always do like to welcome back familiar faces!) and included with your ticket is a bespoke handmade envelope full of collage cut-outs to use on the day or take home for later.
