We Are strIVngs is a celebration of the string orchestra in all its expressive glory—performed by a dedicated community of adult learners who play with depth, passion, and remarkable musicianship. From the surging waves of Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture to the dramatic tension of Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, each piece reveals how much emotion and energy a string orchestra can convey. You’ll hear the tender sorrow of Mozart’s Lacrimosa, the graceful lyricism of Elgar’s Serenade for Strings, the haunting beauty of Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony, the fiery intensity of Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in G minor, and the soaring romance of his 18th Variation from Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. This isn’t just a concert of great music—it’s a celebration of musical dedication. These performers are adult learners: everyday people brought together by their love of music, who have worked with heart and discipline to bring these challenging works to life.
