凈土宗安養寺

住在這裏豈不是美滋滋鎌倉大佛位於古都鎌倉的凈土宗寺院高德院內的阿彌陀如來青銅坐像俗稱鎌倉大佛，是古都鎌倉的象徵，大佛凈高11.3米，連台座高13.35米，重約121噸。佛像建造於1252年，大佛的較平的面相、較低的肉髻和前傾的姿勢等，具有鎌倉時代流行的宋代佛像的風格，是鎌倉時期的代表性塑像，被定為日本國寶。與奈良東大寺大佛在後世經歷多次補修不同，鎌倉大佛基本保持了造像當初的形態，所以非常珍貴。 有意思的是，作為日本三大佛像之一的鎌倉大佛卻也和鎌倉的命運一般，多遭劫難。最初的鎌倉大佛，自1238年始建，主體為木造結構，歷經6年方才完成。但在3年後，便被颱風颳倒而毀。於是，在1253年開始重鑄銅製坐佛像，供奉於大佛殿之內。而大佛殿也歷經多次颱風，火災破壞，又一次一次地進行重修。但在終於在1498年，由於海水倒灌，將整個大殿沖毀。從此開始，佛像就一直露天供奉，直到如今。
