Very interesting but mainly in Japanese
English speaking individuals will enjoy the museum but many exhibits are only in Japanese. The setting is beautiful, right on the water.

公共交通機関でのアクセスに難あり
アクセスは行きは渡波駅から徒歩で、帰りはタクシーを利用しました。サン・ファン・バウティスタ号は残念ながら老朽化のため内部見学はできませんでしたが、なかなか見応えがありました。公共交通機関で訪問する場合は、バスや電車の本数が少ないため、事前にしっかりと計画を立てたほうが良いかと思います。
支倉常長の冒険
伊達政宗公の夢、支倉常長の冒険が詰まった、慶長年間の大航海を記憶している施設です。施設の通称は『サン・ファン館』支倉常長のノビスパニア(メキシコ)からイスパニア(スペイン)ローマへの旅の記憶が詰まった博物館です。現在では外観を眺めることしかできませんが、1993年に復元された国内最大のガレオン船(木造様式帆船)サン・ファン・バウティスタ号が係留されています。
