Worth a short visit.
The history of the Friary was interesting. The remaining structure is well kept. Can be viewed easily in one hour. Near other points of interest, the Ferguson river and the Clare museum.
well done information and friendly knowledgeable docent. Have done a good job w preservation but not overly re created, nice to spend some time here if staying in Ennis or near by
Ennis Friary was set up in Clare in the 13th century and served as a centre of learning. Today, visitors to the friary’s place are welcome to admire its famous sculptures.
This is a must see if you’re in Ennis. Ask the tour guide questions. The carvings and the history are breathtaking- we learned so much and enjoyed this immensely.

Ennis Friary
Although we did not go inside, the outer walls are quite impressive. The friary is set right in the heart of the town.
